Generative AI in this Course
Engineers now work alongside AI assistants that write code, build spreadsheets, and draft reports. This course uses that fact: assignments include Generative AI prompts that quiz you, plant bugs for you to find, and audit your work - and every report you turn in must show that you verified the results with hand calculations, known solutions, and physical checks. Start with the class 1 / class 8 assignment Engineering Computing with AI Assistants, and install the course TA skill to turn your AI tool into a course-aware teaching assistant that coaches instead of solving. AI use is encouraged on assignments and projects (with disclosure) and is not permitted on quizzes or exams taken for a grade.
