The key components of a control system and terminology are presented in this lecture. Common terminology used in control system design, types of controllers, and control modes are also covered. It is important to learn these basic concepts as a foundation for the rest of the semester.
As part of the lecture, there is a group activity to learn the principal parts of a control system and become familiar with some basic control strategies.
