MATLAB is commercial software. Much of the same (or very similar) code will also run in the [[https://sourceforge.net/projects/octave/files/Octave%20Windows%20binaries/|GNU Octave]] or other open-source packages. This course uses MATLAB but many of the examples can also be run with GNU Octave with minor modification.
